Ars Longa, Vita Brevis (Art is long, life is short), F.E McWilliam Gallery
Shauna has created a screen-printed cape inspired by the work of F.E McWilliams'. Pushing the barriers of print into the 3 dimension, she wanted to create a piece that would change shape and form when worn and in motion. The surface design reflects the silhouettes and form and the suggestion of movement that is alive within F.E McWilliams' work. Women of Belfast, the expressive works that capture the fragility of life, particularly inspired Shauna. As F.E McWilliams' work was so driven by movement, Shauna was inspired by the idea of creating a piece of art which could then become variable when worn, communicating the idea in motion.
